Some Things

Well, quite a bit has happened since my last post. First, I got a research position at the Wireless Network and Communications Research Center at Illinois Institute of Technology. The project involves scanning the wireless spectrum from 30MHz-3GHz in Chicago and doing various things with the data. One of the goals of the project is to be able to identify those on the other side of the digital divide and reach out to them. At the moment I am writing software for controlling GPS units. I may post some code examples later.

Second, I got a digital projector. It's an Epson Powerlite S5. It actually works quite well, even functioning as a 70" TV while the sun is still out. Yes, the projector works during daylight hours without much effort in making the room dark. The picture is obviously much clearer and brighter in the dark, but rest assured it will work with the lights on. It even has (decent) built in speakers for if you're laptop speakers are really quite.

I also recently went to the Blue Fin Sushi Bar in Chicago. I must say, the sushi was absolutely delicious -- the best I've ever had. It was so good in fact I've found myself craving sushi even after this recent visit which almost never happens. If you are ever in Chicago and want some sushi, Blue Fin is the place to go. Be warned, however, that your bill will not be exactly what a frugal person would look for.
